All-Natural Solution To Clean Your Dishwasher

Your dishwasher has done a very good job so far, wasn’t it? Well, after taking all the benefits from it, you should know. The dishwasher also needs some cleaning from time to time. I notice that when you give it a nice tidy up, it actually works smoother and more efficiently. How do you know when it is time to clean it? You’ll definitely notice because it will have a bad odor to it after a while. Hence, it is time to check it out and see what can you do about it. Keep reading and see one easy and a natural DIY solution you need to clean your dishwasher. Furthermore, do not forget about the filters that actually should be cleaned more often.

Check this out, here’s what you need to prepare this natural DIY solution to clean your dishwasher thoroughly:

– 300g sodium bicarbonate
– 150g castile soap
– 80g hydrogen peroxide (3%)
– 60g salt
– 10 drops of lemon essential oil
– 10 drops of clove essential oil
– 20 drops ‘on guard’ essential oil

Simply mix all ingredients in a bowl until they are very well combined. You should the consistency of a paste. Then, transfer to a plastic container. You will use this DIY solution for scrubbing with the sponge.

However, first off, you should run a hot cycle on your dishwasher. Make sure you empty the dishwasher first. Then, add 2 tablespoons of sodium bicarbonate and 1 teaspoon of any essential oil you like (for example, tea tree oil or eucalyptus oil) to the soap dispenser. Next, fill the rinse aid with 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Now you are ready to run the dishwasher on the hottest setting.

While it runs, make sure you don’t forget about the filters. Thus, use the DIY solution to spread on them and scrub gently with a sponge until you see the gunk lifting off.

After the cycle is over, use the same DIY paste to clean the inside of the dishwasher. Spread the solution all over and use a clean sponge to scrub everything again. It should be easier since you already run a hot cycle. Place the filters back in their place then run another hot cycle.

Furthermore, you could also use the same paste to scrub the spray arms.

I find this method to be super quick and easy because the dishwasher will do the work for you. Basically, it will rinse everything off and you will see how good it looks and smells.
