SOS! My Glass Shower Doors Have Been Attacked By Hard Water Deposits And Soap Scum

I live in an area where hard water runs from each faucet and is seen on every inch of my glass shower door. Fighting with hard water deposits in the bathroom is pretty hard and unsightly, because some cloudy white stains will remain on your shower doors after each shower you take. This white film makes your shower doors look real dirty and grimy even if they are clean. Beside this inconvenient, the buildup will attract soap scum and other dirt. Just imagine how my glass shower doors look like?! It’s pretty disgusting to have such a view in the bathroom when you are cleaning freak. It pisses me off! At least it pissed me off until I found the real secret in cleaning this mess from my glass shower doors.

I tried all sort of glass cleaners, but I honestly tell you that they only make a hole in my budget. They are effective, indeed, but a bit expensive, and when you have to clean the glass shower doors every 2 days, it’s not something you can rely on.

So, in order to reduce my costs and keep my glass shower doors spotless, I found magic in lemon and salt.

You need:

  • A small bowl
  • Kosher salt
  • 1 lemon

How to proceed?

Fill half of bowl with kosher salt and cut the lemon in half. Jump into the shower and start scrubbing my dears. Dip half a lemon in salt and then rub the glass shower doors. When the salt goes away, dip it again and continue rubbing. Repeat this process until every inch of your glass shower doors are rubbed entirely with salt and lemon.
Leave it to act for 10-15 minutes, and then take a sponge, dampen it in water and remove the lemon and salt from shower doors.

The last thing you need to do is to wipe the shower doors with paper towels or newspaper sheets. Results will be sparkling clean and with some money left in your piggy bank.
